Extractions are the removal of teeth. There are many reason for people to need to have teeth extracted, but the main reason is that a tooth has been deemed non-restorable. In other words, Dr. Wood or Dr. Delk do not feel that the long-term prognosis of this tooth is good, and that fixing the tooth may be impossible. Some extractions may be more difficult than others, such as wisdom teeth extractions and some back teeth, and may require a referral to an oral surgeon. Prior to extraction of any tooth, Dr. Wood and Dr. Delk will discuss with you your options of replacing this tooth when it comes out and how to achieve the least possible interruption in your normal oral function and appearance.
